Ever wonder why when you first connect power to your amp it sparks like crazy?  This is not healthy for your amp, and it can even make arc marks on your nice terminals from the "ZAP" which is like small arc welder effect!  Amplifiers circuits contain electronics that store power for proper operation but there is no current limiter on any amp for the initial power up. So, what happens is when you connect your amp to power, a large surge of current flows into the amp to power up all the components, this happens even if the amp is not powered on by the remote wire.
 
This tool allows you to easily pre-charge your amp so that when you do connect the main power wires it will no longer spark. It is a handy tool to have and your amp will thank you since it will no longer have a sudden jolt of current violently surging into it when connected to power.
